The Indiana State Department of Health has contracted the Center for Health Policy and Indiana University School of Dentistry to implement a one-year project to develop a strategic oral health plan. This plan will provide recommendations and strategies to improve accessibility of the oral health workforce for the underserved statewide. To coordinate the individual steps of the project, assist in the development of the strategic plan, and conduct the progress evaluation, a Coordinating Committee was established consisting of designated staff from the Indiana State Department of Health, Indiana University School of Dentistry, Center for Health Policy, and the Indiana Dental Association. The Committee is responsible for setting up a Statewide Planning Council (SPC); conducting a statewide oral health needs assessment; identifying priority needs; and developing a strategic oral health plan. The Coordinating Committee will convene on a regular basis.
