Samuel Nunn, Ph.D.
Sam Nunn serves as director of the Center for Criminal Justice Research and a professor at the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Since joining SPEA in 1993, he has served as associate director of the Center for Urban Policy and the Environment and directed research efforts in a number of policy areas including criminal justice and public safety, urban police operations, and local economic development policy.

Thomas D. Stucky, Ph.D.
Thomas D.
Stucky is the interim director of the Center for Criminal Justice Research and
an associate professor of Criminal Justice for the IU School of Public and
Environmental Affairs (SPEA). Professor Stucky earned Bachelor’s degrees in
Sociology and Psychology from Ohio University in 1991, graduating with high
honors. Following a few years in law enforcement, he earned his Masters of Arts
in Sociology in 1998 and his Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Iowa in
2001. He then worked for three years in SPEA at Indiana University Purdue
University at Fort Wayne. Since coming to IUPUI in 2004, Professor Stucky has
engaged in several applied research projects with the Indiana Criminal Justice
Institute, Indiana Project Safe Neighborhoods, and Indiana state and local
government. He is currently serving as Principal Investigator for the
Comprehensive Anti-Gang Initiative in Indianapolis.
